About Mark

Mark's roots run deep in St. Albert beginning in the 1930's when his maternal grandparents journeyed with their young family, settling near the bridge at Mission Avenue and St. Albert Trail. His Grandpa carved grave markers from stone in the backyard, his Grandma kept house for the Oblate priests at the Rectory on Mission Hill. Mark's paternal grandparents lived near St. Albert Trail and 137th Avenue, raising a large feisty family of Irish descent.

Mark attended school at Paul Kane and Sturgeon Composite, graduating in 1979. He worked in a family run construction business for four years, retail management for two years and practiced as a successful Realtor for 32 years. As a young man, Mark played hockey, was a very serious kickboxing contender, and an avid marathon runner. His work ethic is one of deep determination towards obtaining maximum results when a goal is identified. Mark has two sons, James and Keir, spouse Deb with her children Sara and Seth, and canines Bella and Gypsy.

A deep personal connection to St. Albert motivates Mark to serve his community on city council and be a part of building it into the future.
